Pennsylvania Electricians is an independent contractor-referral service that helps connect Pennsylvania homeowners, landlords, and property managers with participating independent electricians. It is not an electrical contractor.

## What it does

- Publishes sourced information about electrical problems, costs, panel upgrades, older-home wiring, and Pennsylvania's local licensing and permits.
- Provides a phone number ((717) 409-6059). Calls are routed to a participating independent electrician serving the caller's area, if one is available.

## What it doesn't do

- Perform electrical work, employ electricians, own service vehicles, or keep offices or crews in any city.
- Hold an electrical contractor license. It is not a Pennsylvania government agency, licensing board, or professional association.
- Diagnose electrical problems or quote prices.
- Guarantee availability in every location, at every hour, or for every job type, or promise response times or 24/7 service.
- Verify, license, certify, insure, or supervise participating electricians, or claim any of them is licensed, insured, or background-checked.

## How referrals work

1. The caller describes the property location and the electrical problem.
2. The call is routed to a participating independent electrician covering that area, when available.
3. That electrician diagnoses, quotes, and performs any agreed work under their own business name, license where required, and insurance. There is no obligation to hire them, and callers are not charged for the referral.

## Before hiring an electrician in Pennsylvania

- Pennsylvania has no statewide electrician license; licensing is local (Allentown, Reading, and Harrisburg license electricians).
- Contractors doing $5,000+ of home improvement work a year must register with the PA Attorney General (PAHIC number).
- Home improvement contracts over $500 must be in writing, with a three-business-day right to cancel.
- Ask for proof of insurance and who pulls the permit.
